SEChat is a user-friendly Local Area Network(LAN) Chat tool. Designed for SOHO networks SEChat provides mostly all features for organizing a comfortable and easy to use talk environment.

You can chat, send private and alert messages, use graphical smiles(emotions) in your conversation. With SEChat e-mail system you can leave messages to off-line users. You'll be able to initiate a private chat (tet-a-tet) with specified user, so that no one else will see your private chat messages. Create new channels(like IRC). Also there is a Bulletin Board channel where you'll be able to post a message, so everyone will be able to see it, even if you are off-line.

You will be able even to chat through a microphone! VoiceLink! makes it possible to create a voice channel where you'll be able to speak with your friends or collogues in real-time full-duplex mode, so all users will be able to speak and hear each other at the same time. The wide variety of audio CODEC's supported, so audio conference will not take much network bandwidth. You can tweak CODEC and sampling rate settings to achieve a crystal clear voice over IP transmission.

SEChat can work with or without a dedicated server. The usage of a server depends on your needs. SEChat works fine in both cases. SEChat uses IP Multicast to support conferencing without a server and TCP with the dedicated server.
After installation SEChat is 100% ready to use, no special setup needed.
